The Danish Concert Band was founded in 1968 and today consists of around 65 members.

The orchestra has an exciting history with numerable concerts and concert tours in Denmark and Europe, prestigious competition results, CD releases, premieres and compositions commissioned from both national and international composers, among them Søren Hyldgaard. The Dutch composer Johan de Meij has dedicated an arrangement of the first movement of Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3 to the orchestra.

Jørgen Misser Jensen

Jørgen Misser Jensen has been the orchestra’s conductor since 1970. In 1980, he was appointed associate principal clarinettist in The Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has tutored at the Royal Danish Music Conservatory and was a member of the jury at international competitions for symphonic bands.Throughout the last five decades, Jensen has led The Danish Concert Band. He has turned it from a local school orchestra into the dynamic, innovative and well-functioning concert band it is today.
