Join us and meet Wind Orchestras from all over Europe.

ECWO, the European Championship for Wind Orchestras is an international non-profit association, with the purpose of arranging the European Championship for Wind Orchestras. Our mission is to promote wind music and the values connected with wind music.

Through organising the championship the association wishes to:

– Promote wind music and the values connected with wind music
– Improve and help sustain high levels within wind orchestras
– Stimulate and support international contacts and networking
– Promote and develop new repertoire for harmony orchestras

Articles of association

The ECWO association is a foundation falling under the stipulations of the Belgian law. The organisation is formally located in Gent (Charles de Kerchovelaan 17 - 9000 Gent).

Organisation

Organisations of wind orchestras from European countries can become a member of the ECWO association. The ECWO association is steered by the General Meeting, which consists of one delegate per member organisation. The general Meeting appoints a Managing Board, which is responsible for the daily management of ECWO.

Member organisations

ECWO was founded in 2014 by the national wind band federations from Belgium (VLAMO), Denmark (DAO), the Netherlands (KNMO), Norway (NMF), Sweden (SBM) and the United Kingdom (BASBWE). Meanwhile also the national federations of France (CMF), Germany (BDMV) and Switzerland (SBV) became member.
