Landesblasorchester Baden-Württemberg

The Landesblasorchester BW (LBO), since 1978 an institution of BVBW, is among Germany’s leading symphonic wind orchestras, attracting highly accomplished musicians. It won Vice World Champion at the 2017 WMC and represented Europe at the 2024 WASBE World Conference. Björn Bus, LBO’s Music Director since 2014, was born in Brunssum, began as a percussionist before turning to trombone, studied conducting in Groningen and Maastricht with Alex Schillings and Jan Cober, conducts internationally, and is in demand as an adjudicator. He also serves as WMC Artistic Director and a WASBE board member.
